LET`S HAVE SOME ACTION!

Cinemas – the great majority of cinemas in North Cyprus show films in their original versions with Turkish subtitles, however it would be best to check with the cashier first. In Kyrenia, you will find Galleria Cinema in Kyrenia town centre and the Lemar Cinema in Karaoglanoglu.

Bowling & Arcade – King`s Leisure Centre on the new by-pass in Kyrenia is a brand new, three-story fun land that has lots to offer both to adults and children. From a massive underground arcade that the whole family can enjoy to a 12 lane bowling alley, 4D cinema experience to pool tables, fantastic sports bar to a fancy restaurant, the complex certainly offers the best there is!

Ice-skating – The one and only synthetic ice rink in North Cyprus – Ice & Bowling – can be found in Famagusta, and enjoyed without feeling the cold of the ice and yet experience the same feeling! Besides the fun ice rink, there are also pool tables, bowling alley, arcade and restaurant – all in all a fun day you will not want to miss!

Water parks – Acapulco, Oscar and Lapethos Hotels all have great water parks for both residents and non-residents. They have large pools, slides, flumes and even organised daily pool and poolside activities for children in the summer.  There is also a dedicated water park in Catalkoy called Octopus Aqua Park which is also popular with its friendly Restaurant & Bar, which makes it a fun place both for children and adults. And last but not least, Lapta Aqua Club is the newest and largest addition to water parks in Kyrenia and can be found by following the signs as you leave Alsancak towards Lapta.

Castle climbing – St. Hilarion, Kantara, Kyrenia and Buffavento Castles are all exciting with gory histories to explore. There are many scary precipices and lofty heights to scale so that children bored by history and historical places can find something to keep them occupied.

Beach clubs – there are beach clubs springing up all over the Island and almost all beach clubs have various activities for kids – try the following: -

Scuba diving – there are dive centres all over North Cyprus and all the main hotels either have their own dive schools or can easily arrange for your children to be taken daily to a nearby dive school.  Before you sign up to a full course, your kids can do a trial dive to make sure they really do want to go ahead and learn. Make sure any instructor is fully qualified and ask to see the dive school’s accreditation and insurance before signing up.

Paintball – you can go paintballing at Sunset Beach in Lapta where you will also find many other fun activities for you and your children including Quad biking, banana boats, swimming pools and even a bar for Mum & Dad to relax and enjoy a cool drink in the shade.

Boat trips – just go down to the Old Harbour in Kyrenia and take your pick. You will find many companies offering a whole array of boat trips; the African Queen is a great and popular choice for day and evening trips to watch the sun set.

Paragliding – if you or your children are thrill seekers and fancy jumping off a mountain then try Highline Paragliding for a day full of excitement with breath taking views. You will find their office based along the Old Harbour in Kyrenia. Don`t forget to have your photo taken!

Dog walking – every day between 9am and 1pm you can visit the Kyrenia Animal Rescue Centre near Buffavento Castle in Arapkoy and make a dog`s day by taking them for a nice stroll.

Cycling – you will be able to hire bikes from many of the main hotels in North Cyprus.

Golf – you will find the CMC Golf Club near Guzelyurt or the new and famous Korinieum 18 hole Championship Golf Course & Country Club in Esentepe – a definite must-try.
